Welcome to Woodcraft & More

Woodcraft & More teaches beginning to advanced woodworking principles and practical knowledge. Class instruction will be tailored to reach the experience level of the various ages. Students will achieve the understanding and knowledge to assist them in creating their own wood projects. During the sessions, the students will have the opportunity to attain many woodworking skills.

We also teach Spanish in Nature classes. The class introduces the Spanish language through nature encounters: including singing, cultural crafts/cooking, ceramics, hiking, gardening, woodworking, fishing, and games. This class is designed for first time speaking students and kids who desire to improve Spanish speaking skills.

Violin lessons are also offered through Woodcraft & More

Approved vendor with Cabrillo Point Academy.

Main Instructors

David Contreras

David is a Planning Planner, Landscape Designer and woodworking hobbyist. He graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Landscape Architecture.  Over the past 18 years he has worked as a City Planner and Landscape Designer in Northern and Southern California.  His experience includes designing gardens, plazas, residential communities, parks, and streetscape beautification projects.  He has been woodworking since he was 10 years old and over the years has created many unique projects including wine racks, tree houses, club houses, chicken coops, arbors, benches, shelves, and artistic pieces.  He created Woodcraft & More because he wants kids and youth to experience woodworking and the use of various tools.  This experience will give them a life-long skill that will be of great use when they become adults.

Gabriela Gamino

Gabriela grew up with Spanish as her native language and is raising three bilingual children with a deep connection to nature. She resides in Orange County with her children, husband, cat and chickens. After graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Landscape Architecture, she moved to Southern California to pursue a career in City Planning and Urban Design.  For over 10 years she managed and operated her own successful children’s ceramic impression business. Over the years she has taught different homeschool classes, kid’s pottery classes, started a youth music group, coached first-time homeschool parents and provided healthy lifestyle coaching. She lead a Spanish Immersion in Nature program that guided children to grow a deeper connection with nature while learning Spanish and absorbing cultural understanding.

Gianni Contreras

Gianni is a violinist who enjoys learning new music and sharing his knowledge with others. He enjoys reading books and using engineering and physics to build projects in his free time.
